Here's what shapes my work

I've always been curious about how the human mind works. It fascinates me that each of us experiences, interprets, and makes sense of the world in uniquely subjective ways. Throughout my work, no two therapy sessions have ever felt the same. Even when people arrive with similar concerns, the way those experiences are lived and understood is always different. That continues to be one of the things I find most remarkable about being human.

Working across different settings and with diverse communities has continually shaped the way I understand people. It has reinforced my belief that distress rarely exists in isolation. Our relationships, identities, environments, and lived experiences - all shape how we understand ourselves and respond to the world around us. This perspective carries through everything I do, from therapy and supervision to writing, workshops, and public conversations about mental health.

I don't believe my role is to provide ready-made answers or tell people how to live their lives. The conversations I value most are the ones where people feel deeply listened to, challenged with care, and ones that enable them to stay with uncertainty long enough for new understanding to emerge. I also don't see my role as imposing my values or relying on endless homework at the expense of thoughtful reflection. Real progress often comes from sitting with discomfort while moving with patience and self-trust.

Across my work in therapy, supervision, writing, and workshops, I'm interested in creating spaces where people can pause, reflect, and deepen their understanding of themselves and the world around them. That's the connecting thread in my work, and it continues to shape the questions I ask, the conversations I have, and the way I practise.
